Welcome to My LD Tutor

"The secret in education lies in respecting the student"
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

MY LD TUTOR is an educational resource designed to assist all types of learners, including those with learning disabilities, with test preparation, study skills, organization and developing a personalized strategy for academic success. We provide one-on-one tutoring and small classes that carefully address the different needs of each student, their strengths and weaknesses in terms of subject material and executive functioning skills.

After an initial meeting for assessment, tutors design a study program aimed at maximizing improvement and success. When preparing for a standardized test, such as the SAT or ACT, students are taught content mastery, strategies, navigation of the test and techniques for managing stress and test anxiety. Our tutors are very experienced educators, who carefully evaluate each student to develop a clear understanding of what it will take to create a comprehensive and cohesive plan for success.

The philosophy that defines MY LD TUTOR is based on the understanding that each and every student can benefit from a different approach, speed and even personality. As part of the customized plan, we do our best to match students with a perfect tutor. With an ultimate objective of helping students achieve their academic goals and work with autonomy, we encourage and support each student in taking responsibility for their own studying. Through homework assignments and the development of good study skills, students learn how to approach each concept or question type with confidence and consistency.
